Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Kyushu University Quantum and Spacetime Research Institute, Division of Space Quantum Sensing seeking applications for a Professor, Associate Professor, or Tenure-Track Associate Professor.
    (The tenure-track position is intended for an early-career researcher.)

  • Work content and job description

    Experimental research in gravitational-wave physics or quantum measurement.
    The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the “Future Quantum-Space Exploration Project” led by Quantum and Spacetime Research Institute and conduct research on foundational technologies for quantum measurements in space, such as laser interferometry and optical cavities. (Research funding and postdoctoral support are planned; see Notes for details.).
    The appointee will establish a new laboratory within Quantum and Spacetime Research Institute and will also engage in teaching and supervising graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science and the School of Science. (Scope of change: Duties may be revised within the range specified by Kyushu University during the period of employment.)
