    The Institute for the Liberal Arts at Doshisha University offers a four-year liberal arts degree program. The program features small classes all conducted in English.
    Currently, we are looking for an adjunct lecturer to teach the following course in the Fall semester 2024:

    Course name「Development and Law」
    This course focuses on human rights and explores the role of law and legal systems in the economic, social and human development of countries in transitional and developing nations. It examines different approaches to the rule of law and explores various regional experiences with developing the rule of law. It also considers the connections between law and development and international organizations, international trade, and revolution and transition to democracy.

Working hours

    Overtime and other explanations : The course consists of one 90-minute class per week for 13 weeks+two 90-minute on-demand video classes. The class schedule is flexible. After job offer, teaching time can be selected from Monday to Friday, 1st Period:9:00~10:30 2nd Period:10:45~12:15 3rd Period:13:10~14:40 4th Period:14:55~16:25 5th Period:16:40~18:10

    The applicant should
    1. have at least a master's degree or equivalent experience
    2. have teaching experience at the university level
    3. have an excellent command of English (all classes are conducted in English)
    4. have a permit to work in Japan and preferably reside within commuting distance (Kinki area) during the contract period
