  • Work content and job description

    (1) Teach 10 classes: Tokubetsu Eigo Program and the Department of English in the School of Foreign Studies.
    (2) Curriculum management of the Tokubetsu Eigo Program in the Faculty of Foreign Studies (syllabus writing, syllabus check, proposal and establishment of new courses, etc.), and assisting teachers in the program.
    (3) Open campus and entrance exam related duties
    (4) Various administrative functions and duties as requested by the Dean of the faculty.

    Annual Salary : 6 million yen ~

    The annual salary will be 6,600,000 yen plus commutation expenses.
    A research budget will be provided based on the university guidelines.

    Overtime and other explanations : Working hours (start and end) vary according to the class timetable.

Qualifications

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Master

    Master’s Degree or higher in TESOL, applied linguistics or a related field, preferably with a certificate in TESOL/TEFL/TESL.

  • Work experience

    (1)Two or more years of experience teaching at Japanese universities. In addition, experience in coordination (curriculum management) at a university and experience in education using methods such as PBL and COIL are desirable.
    (2) Two or more academic publications by the time of application.

  • Description

    We are seeking a person who, in addition to fulfilling the required qualifications, including educational degrees, academic accomplishments, and experience as specified above and below, has social common sense and an understanding of the university’s founding principles.
    (1)Native or native-like proficiency in English. Any nationality is acceptable. However, applicants must be able to perform their duties within the university in Japanese.
    (2)Willingness to relocate to Kyoto or nearby area.
