Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    He/she will be in charge of research related to the investigation and analysis of bioethical issues
    associated with stem cell research and regenerative medicine as a Principal Investigator in the
    Uehiro Research Division for iPS Cell Ethics.

  • Work content and job description

    ・ He/she has a track record of research on bioethical issues associated with stem cell research and
    regenerative medicine (Any field of expertise is acceptable, but preference may be given to the
    humanities and social sciences).
    ・ He/she must be able to independently manage and operate his/her own laboratory as a Principal
    Investigator, and be willing to engage in research and education on independently defined
    topics and issues of bioethics in stem cell research and/or regenerative medicine.
    ・ He/she has ability to work with the division head and other PIs to assist in the management and
    administration of the division and collaborate globally and work constructively with relevant
    researchers inside and outside the institute.

Working hours

    Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and new-year break, the anniversary of foundation holiday, and paid holidays

    Overtime and other explanations : Discretionary work system for specialist staff (38 hours and 45 minutes/week, 7 hours and 45 minutes/day)

Qualifications

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    He/she has a Ph.D. or equivalent professional achievements/capabilities (Preference may be given to the Ph.D. holders).

  • Work experience

    ・ He/she has a track record of research on bioethical issues associated with stem cell research and regenerative medicine (Any field of expertise is acceptable, but preference may be given to the humanities and social sciences).
    ・ He/she must be able to independently manage and operate his/her own laboratory as a Principal Investigator, and be willing to engage in research and education on independently defined topics and issues of bioethics in stem cell research and/or regenerative medicine.

  • Official qualification in specific field, etc.

    ・ He/she has ability to work with the division head and other PIs to assist in the management and administration of the division and collaborate globally and work constructively with relevant researchers inside and outside the institute.
    ・ He/she has English language skills (oral and writing).
