    We established a Japanese subsidiary in February 2023, and are looking to strengthen our Japan-based team as we provide customer support and develop sales channels in the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Work content and job description

    1. Deliver prototypes, products, and documentation supporting customer orders, R&D, and service requirements in your primary area
    2. Translate ideas and system requirement specifications into engineering designs, physical prototypes, and finished products.
    3. Work with the team to produce rapid prototypes of concepts and customer requirements.
    4. Deliver production-ready designs via integration and test cycles together with CTO and the team.
    5. Create reusable, optimized, maintainable frameworks documented for teammates to understand and collaborate on.
    6. Design and perform test protocols to ensure function and integration to rigorously meet specifications.
    7. Execute and deliver technical projects on time.
    8. Provide ongoing maintenance and refactoring of dynamic production designs.
    9. Identify, report, and manage project risk with team members and management.
    10. Provide real-time service support to customers in the field as needed.

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor / Master / Bachelor / Associate / Advanced Diploma

    1. Solid grounding in mixed-signal digital and analog circuit design.
    2. Precision electrical machine and robotic design, CAD, assemblies, drawings, and documentation.
    3. Precision electrical assembly with light mechanical assembly.
    4. Intermediate microcontroller and/or firmware coding experience a plus, especially in mechatronics and machine automation.
    5. Quick-turn prototyping and manufacture using manual and CNC machine tools.
    6. Development, bring-up, and testing of complex electromechanical systems.
    7. At least 1 cumulative year of experience (independent and/or professional) with electrical or mechanical systems development via professional work, internships, research and/or outside-of-classroom projects.
    8. Degree in relevant engineering fields.
    9. Direct experience with automation, nanotechnology, charged-particle optics, surface science, high vacuum systems a plus.
    10. Ability to rapidly learn new concepts, frameworks.
    11. Enthusiastic about developing and delivering next-generation technologies to improve the human condition.
    12. Firm grounding in the physical sciences.
    13. Interdisciplinary engineering domain knowledge experience working with field systems.
    14. Detail-oriented and able to map details to big-picture outcomes.
    15. Able to quickly attain proficiency in new programs, processes, and paradigms.
    16. Able to make and track independent progress with minimal oversight.
    17. Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organizational, and documentation skills.
