Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    In the School of Life Science and Technology at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, we have opened a recruitment for an assistant professor in the field of bioorganic chemistry.

  • Work content and job description

    The successful candidate will be required to carry out research related to the above-mentioned research field and to supervise undergraduate/graduate students. In addition, the candidate will be in charge of practical training of undergraduate and graduate programs.

Qualifications

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    Applicants hold a PhD, be near to completion of a PhD, or have equivalent ability in a relevant subject.

  • Work experience

    Candidates should hold a research record in bioorganic chemistry such as nucleic acid chemistry, peptide chemistry and carbohydrate chemistry; synthetic organic chemistry; bio-related chemistry (including supramolecular chemistry).

    Fixed-term appointments will be for up to 5 years. Reappointment may be possible for one additional term of up to 3 years. The total term is limited to a maximum of 8 years from the original date of employment.
