Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The University of Tokyo invites applications for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Lecturer and Research Associate, under the “The University of Tokyo Excellent Young Researcher" project to foster and support outstanding young researchers who will lead the next generation of academic research.
“Young researchers" are those who conduct research in an independent research environment and spend half or more of their working time on their research activities.
Position:
Professor (Kyōju) / Associate Professor (Junkyōju) / Lecturer (Kōsi) / Research Associate (Jyokyō)
A total of approximately 5 to 10 posts to be filled.
Starting Date:
On or as soon as possible after February 1st, 2025.

Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~
The above annual salary is the example based on Educational Service Salary Tables.
Monthly salaries will be determined based upon the appointees’ academic background, career backgrounds and other factors. There are seasonal bonuses twice a year. Additional benefits will also be provided as prescribed in the University of Tokyo regulations.

Break time :12:00-12:45
Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and year end through New Year holidays (from December 29 to January 3 of the following year).

Insurance:
Appointees will be enrolled in the Mutual Aid Association of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, employment insurance as well as Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.
Research Support:
The university will provide each researcher with a start-up fund of JPY 3,000,000 annually for two years.
