Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Ushiki lab will start in January 2025 at the Department of Genetics at Washington University in St. Louis.
Our lab’s goal is to gain deeper understanding of the function of enhancers in placenta and skeletal development, diseases, and evolution through mouse in vivo functional characterization, such as in vivo Massively Parallel Reporter Assays (MPRAs) supported by NHGRI K99/R00. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic lab members interested in the following research topics:
- Preeclampsia and abnormal pregnancies
- Craniofacial birth defects
- Tooth injury repair
- Bat wing development

We are looking to fill the following positions:
Postdoctoral Researcher in Mouse Genetics: The ideal candidate will have experience in mouse genetics, including genetic manipulation and/or phenotypic analysis.
Postdoctoral Researcher in Genomics: We are seeking a candidate with expertise in genomics, either wet lab techniques or dry lab skills (e.g., bioinformatics, statistics), or both.
We encourage applications from highly motivated individuals in related life science fields. Fellowships are not a requirement for application or employment, but we actively support and encourage fellowship and grant applications.
