Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    With the rapid advancement of digital technology, Tohoku University's Center for Data-Driven Science & AI is at the forefront of enhancing and proliferating educational research in Mathematics, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence (AIMD). In our quest for excellence and innovation, we invite applications for a Professorship to enrich and expand our educational and research programs.

  • Work content and job description

    1.Develop and teach AI literacy within our comprehensive curriculum.
    2.Craft and manage the AI education learning environment for the university.
    3.Foster collaboration and dissemination of AIMD via the Mathematical and Data Science & AI Education Enhancement Consortium.
    4.Contribute to graduate courses and mentorship of thesis projects.

Wages

    Salary shall be determined in accordance with the staff salary regulations, taking into consideration the academic background, licenses and qualifications, work experience, etc., and balance with other staff members.

    Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, holidays provided for in the National Holidays Act and the period of days from December 29 to January 3 of the following year

    Overtime and other explanations : Discretionary Labor System: As a basis, starting time (8:30) to ending time (17:15), but left up to the discretion of each employee.
    (Deemed working hours: 7.75 hours/day)
    Additionally, according to what is set forth in Article 34 of the Labor Standards Act, each employee should take break time.

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    A doctoral degree is required.

  • Work experience

    ・A substantial record of fundamental research in Information Science related to AI.
    ・Experience in teaching Information Science and supervision of graduate theses.

  • Description

    Proficiency in both Japanese and English is essential; nationality is not a criterion.
