Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Since 2022, Hiroshima University has launched a university-wide global initiative, in order to develop international cooperation personnel who will be responsible for achieving the SDGs and in order to form an international center for Peace and Sustainability that will lead discussions on post-SDGs.
In the process of expanding Society 5.0 globally, The IDEC Institute was established in April 2022, as a university-wide organization with faculty assignments to conduct practical research and human resource development that be conducive to international contributions while leading the entire university.
The IDEC Institute currently has four centers: Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE), Center for Peaceful and Sustainable Futures (CEPEAS), Center for the Planetary Health and Innovation Science (PHIS), Center for Global Partnership (CGP).
In order to focus on CGP and expand the functions and strengthen its functions, we have been recruiting three new faculty members internationally. In this time, we are recruiting one faculty member for ②Chief Peacebuilding Officer, since ①Chief Sustainability Officer and ③Global Internship Coordinator have been decided.
Work content and job description
②As a Chief Peacebuilding Officer, based on The IDEC Institute’ mission of “in the process of globally expanding Society 5.0, to develop international cooperation personnel who will be responsible for achieving the SDGs”, aiming of developing into a hub of global Peace and Sustainability, to practice peacebuilding at the university level, and conduct educational research to be conducive to the purpose.
*Common duties: to collaborate with other Hiroshima University researchers from Center for the Study of International Cooperation in Education (CICE), the Center for Peaceful and Sustainable Futures (CEPEAS), Center for the Planetary Health and Innovation Science (PHIS), Center for Global Partnership (CGP) and the Network for Education and Research on Peace and Sustainability (NERPS) to lead transdisciplinary practical research promotion and human resource development by The IDEC Institute.

*(Scope of change) In principle, there is no change. (Refer to Article 6-2 of the Work Regulations for Contract Employees.) However, duties may be changed within the scope which does not require any change of position.
