Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The concept of “Nature Positive” is an international goal to restore biodiversity by 2030. To achieve this goal, the Center for Realizing a Nature-Positive Development Society [ネイチャーポジティブ発展社会実現拠点] (lead: Tohoku University, collaborating: Toho University, Hokkaido University, National Institute for Environmental Studies, and others) works to visualize the value of nature, and one of our targets is to make future predictions for regional development. We are looking for researchers to help realize this target. The specific research expected will involve mapping biodiversity and community structure in several regions of Japan using state-of-the-art species distribution models, as well as changes in biodiversity under various global-change scenarios and modeling the conditions for restoring biodiversity. We particularly welcome researchers who are motivated to advance the field of biodiversity modeling by employing existing methods but also by developing new models and analyses through collaborations with researchers in this project. (Planned project period: From FY2024 to maximum FY2033)
