Qualifications

  Ph.D., M.A. or equivalent certification in Urdu language or Urdu literature.

• Description

  An applicant is deemed qualified if s/he:
  (1)is a native speaker of or possesses native-like language proficiency in Urdu.
  (2) has general knowledge of the cultures and societies where Urdu is spoken.
  (3)has a Ph.D., M.A. or equivalent certification in Urdu language or Urdu literature.
  (4)has a sufficient number of publications in the fields of Urdu
  language or literature.
  (5)has experience teaching Urdu as a second or foreign language at a university.

  From the starting date to March 31, 2028. The initial contract may be enewed but not to extend beyond March 31, 2035(*).The successful applicant is requested to arrive in Japan and obtain the status of residence by the day before the starting date.

  Candidates may also be required to teach classes at Toyonaka Campus, Osaka University (Toyonaka City, Osaka).

Compensation

  Others : (1) A commuting allowance will be provided in accordance with the regulation.
  (2) The appointed applicant will be provided with furnished residential facilities equipped with electricity, gas and water services throughout the term of the contract. Please note that the appointed candidate will be responsible for both rent and utility costs.
  (3) Upon assuming the post, the candidate will be provided with a part of relocation expenses.
  (4) Travel expenses to return to their home country and a part of other relocation expenses may be provided in accordance with the regulation.
  (5) Any of dependent allowances, bonuses, or retirement allowance will not be provided.
  

• Insurance

  Others : The successful candidate will be enrolled in the National Public Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations, Employment Insurance and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.
