Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Kyushu University newly established Institute for Asian and Oceanian Studies(Q-AOS) in April 2019 to open up a new academic field, contributing to resolution of social issues in Asian and Oceanian countries by tackling with the problems of today and prediction of the issues expected to be faced tomorrow.

Work content and job description
(1)As a Q-AOS Researcher
●To promote interdisciplinary research related to any of the Clusters1 or Modules2 as a principal investigator
(2) As a Coordinator of the Department of Overseas Engagement 3
●To promote human networking in Asia and Oceania region to strongly promote on-demand and on-site activities
●To plan and implement on-site research and education activities (KYUDAI NOW, alumni roundtables, pre-entry education, postdoctoral education, etc.) in Asia and Oceania
●To lead activities for the social implementation of Q-AOS research and education results, and the resolution of social issues
●To conduct outreach activities (Asia Week, BBS (Brown Bag Seminars4), etc.)
●To identify research trends and results in clusters and modules, and plan and implement initiatives that lead to the creation of new value
1. Cluster: An interdisciplinary and fusion academic unit that aims to further accelerate the fusion and collaboration of fields in which the University has strengths, based on the establishment of social issues in broad categories (Nature, Industry, Health and Society) with the 17 goals of the SDGs in mind
2 .Module: An interdisciplinary research group that works to identify and solve specific social issues
3. Department of Overseas Engagement: Based on the research results and international network accumulated by Q-AOS to date, this new department was established in FY 2024 to develop and implement a mechanism to implement new education and research programs related to issues (on-demand) that are in strong demand in Asia and Oceania (on-site), to secure excellent human resources with a passion for solving local problems, and to realize brain circulation through recurrent education and reskilling
4. Brown Bag Seminars: A seminar conducted by Q-AOS every Wednesday to inform the public about the latest research related to the Asia-Oceania region and the SDGs at Kyushu University, and to provide a forum for interdisciplinary research networking and exchange

(2) have research experience in a specialized field or area related to one of the 4 clusters.
(3) be eager to develop research strategies with a clear path for their implementation in society, from the perspectives of social development, international development, and international cooperation.
(4) have experience obtaining competitive funds or managing international joint research projects or are strongly motivated to do so.
(5) be eager to tackle social issues in Japan and abroad.
(6) be eager to collaborate with international institutes, governments, local governments, and research institutes.
(7) have strong management skills and a sense of ethics.
(8) be able to travel abroad and engage in the local activities.
