Job description

    NIFS seeks young researchers with advanced research ability for promoting fusion science by engaging them in research for a fixed period of employment.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 4 million yen ~ 4 million yen

    Approximately 340,000 Japanese yen each month including taxes. However, annual salary may be changed based on the results of the annual performance evaluation.

Working hours

    Break time :12:00-13:00

    Holidays : Saturday, Sunday, Japanese National Holidays, and December 29 to January 3

    (1) Holding the Ph.D. degree and be within eight years since receiving that degree
    (2) To receive the Ph.D. degree before the start of employment on March 31, 2025

When the start of the employment is delayed from April 1, 2025 due to conditions for which the applicant is not responsible, the period of employment will be two years from the start of the employment.

    (2) Research history: any format with a title which is your research project is acceptable, however, this text should not exceed three pages single-spaced. Please describe the research conducted as a Ph.D. student and as an M.S. student.
    (3) Research topic upon employment: any format is acceptable, however, this text should not exceed two pages single-spaced. Potential candidates should design a research plan together with the desired supervisor at NIFS for approval before applying. The name of that individual should be included in this text.
    (4) List of publications: any format is acceptable. All co-authors should be included. The papers should be noted as “refereed” or “not refereed.” In compiling the publication list, “Guidelines for compiling the list of publications” should be consulted.
    (5) Offprints: offprints of three major publications should be included. Should the candidate not yet have publications, a dissertation, papers under review for possible publication, or papers in preparation may be included. Photocopies are acceptable.
    (6) A document of a brief summary of each publication that you state in (4) and attach in (5) and your contributions in them.(any format)
    (7) Letters of recommendation: any format is acceptable.
