Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University, seeks a wide range of talented individuals in the field of urban and regional economics.

  • Work content and job description

    ・Research in the areas described Urban and Regional Economics .
    ・Educational activities for undergraduate and graduate school students
    ・For graduate students, applicants are generally expected to teach two courses, including Urban and Regional Economics I (2 credits) and Urban and Regional Economics II (2 credits). For undergraduate students, in principle, applicants will be responsible for teaching Urban and Regional Economics (4 credits) and a general education course (2credits).
    ・For a tenure-track lecturer, it is generally required to teach at least 4 credits for graduate students and 4 credits for undergraduate students each year. For an associate professor, it is generally required to teach 4 credits for graduate students each year, and 6 credits and 4 credits for undergraduate students every two years. For a professor, it is generally required to teach 4 credits for graduate students each year, and 6 credits for undergraduate students each year.

    For a tenure-track lecturer, the initial term of employment is five years, with the tenure review conducted by the end of the fourth year. If the extension is granted, the tenure review will be conducted again by the end of the fifth year.
