Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
In this open call, we are looking for an IT coordinator to manage the construction, development, and operation of the institute's supercomputer system in order to expand the advanced life science research on glycans promoted by the Institute for Glyco-core Research (iGCORE) of Nagoya University and Gifu University.
This system is configured as a cluster, and the first system phase has been completed, and we are currently moving to the next system update and expansion. In addition, since this system handles peta-scale biological data mainly from glycoscience and clinical information linked to personal information, it is necessary to accurately manage the construction, development, and operation from multifaceted perspectives such as scalability, robustness, and high-level information security. The construction and operation of the system will be carried out by a team in collaboration with vendors, administrative professionals, and information science researchers mainly from the systems biology division. Please note that system users include data scientists specializing in bioinformatics as well as non-experts in information technology. You will contribute to the promotion of the project by being in charge of smooth operation while communicating and coordinating with experts in different fields. In addition, you will be involved in nurturing the next generation, including providing technical guidance and holding seminars for graduate students and young staff, and will contribute to the digital transformation of the entire institute.
