Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    We are seeking a highly motivated Specially Appointed Research Fellow join The Yabu Lab at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan). Our research focuses on the synthesis and application of molecular catalysts for electrochemical energy conversion. We offer access to advanced equipment and facilities for synthesis, measurement, and characterization, ensuring a supportive environment for cutting-edge research.

    Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Dr. Tengyi Liu (Specially Appointed Assistant Professor) on measurements related to electrochemical CO2 reduction.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 4 million yen ~ 5 million yen

    The No. 3 annual salary system is applied. The annual salary includes monthly salary, regional allowances, year-end and diligent service allowance, and retirement allowance.

Working hours

  • Working hours :08:30-17:15

    Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, The National Holidays set forth in the Act on National Holidays, and the period of days from December 29 to January 3

    Overtime and other explanations : Flexible Work Hours: As a basis, starting time (8:30) to ending time (17:15), but left up to the discretion of each employee. Additionally, according to what is laid out in Article 34 of the Labor Standards Act, each employee is allowed a break.

    Master / Bachelor

    Applicants must hold a Master or Bachelor degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field (candidates nearing graduation are also welcome to apply with proof of expected degree completion).

  • Work experience

    Applicants should be able to efficiently communicate in English.
    Applicants should be able to collect data and write report in English.
    Applicants having ability to communicate in Japanese or Chinese are favorable.

Tohoku University has the largest on-campus childcare system of all Japanese national universities. This network comprises three nurseries: Kawauchi Keyaki Nursery school (capacity: 22) and Aobayama Midori Nursery school (116), both open to all university employees, as well as Hoshinoko Nursery school (120), which is open to employees working at Tohoku University Hospital.
