Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Science (RIIS) consists of three research cores (Quantum Universe, Photosynthesis and Structural Biology, and Superconducting and Functional Materials), deepening research in each field and carrying out our interdisciplinary research. RIIS is recruiting for a faculty member for the Superconducting and Functional Materials Research Core. (The member is also involved in education and study at the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, and the Graduate School of Environmental, Life, and Natural Sciences and Technology).

Theoretical computational chemistry (molecular mechanism/function analysis and molecular design of biomolecular assembly systems and soft materials by molecular simulation, etc.). The applicant is expected to advance education and research in collaboration with Professor Wataru Shinoda.

Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Associate Professor 5,732,000-7,840,000yen
Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 3,938,000-6,390,000yen
An annual salary system is applied.
The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1) , and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Working hours :08:30-17:30
Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)
Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)
