Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Because of rapid improvements in sequencing technologies, many types of transcriptomic, genomic and epigenomic data have been generated and also made publicly available. Such data resources are potentially useful for the elucidation of biological systems and the development of medical tools by performing large-scale integrative analyses. The mission of Laboratory for Large-Scale Biomedical Data Technology is promoting such data-driven studies in the biomedical field and developing component technologies to efficiently utilize large-scale biomedical data by employing computational methods and data engineering technologies.
We have been working on several research projects for the transcription and transcriptional regulation studies. Especially, transcription regulation is a fundamental biological process involving various types of molecules including genomic DNA, RNAs and proteins, and biological phenomena including transcription, transcription factor binding, epigenomic states, and genomic variations. This means that treatment and integrative analysis of various heterogeneous datasets is required for understanding the mechanism of whole regulations. Our ongoing projects include the development of data resources for transcription and transcriptional regulations, data coordination for generating large-scale biomedical data, and analysis and development for medical applications.
