Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Department of Biology, Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, seeks an assistant professor to conduct research on comprehensively and freely handle the rapidly accumulating genome information based on the diversity of organisms, collect, cultivate, and preserve novel microorganisms living in the natural environment including marine environment, that are positioned as important future research assets and genetic resources, and use these strains to conduct vigorous research on a wide range of topics from cell functions to life principles and biodiversity with a cutting-edge genomic scientific perspective.

Selection / Notification of result

    Interview will be conducted after the application submission deadline and screening of the application documents. For the interview, the applicant(s) will be requested to provide a 20 to 30-minute presentation in Japanese or English, containing the outlining his/her research to date, aspirations for research and education activities in the future, and concrete research plans. The interview will be done via web or face-to-face, dependent on the situation. When it is done by face-to-face interview, the applicant(s) will be required to cover the cost of interview-related travel.
