Working hours

  • Working hours :09:00-17:30

    Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, Summer holiday/ Year-End and New Year holiday, and other holidays Ritsumeikan prescribe.
    Please note that there are some Saturdays/National holidays which may be designated as class days according to the class schedule.

    Overtime and other explanations : Break time will be provided according to the Labor Standards Act.
    Class Hour: Each SFELI will teach an average of ten class periods (koma) per week per semester (each class period will be basically 95 minutes and one subject will consist of 95 minutes×14 times (weeks) + 20 minutes (Video on Demand class etc.)
    ※We may offer you more than the class periods mentioned above.

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Master

    Candidates must have at least a master's degree at the time of application.

  • Description

    ①Candidates must be capable of teaching English as a foreign language.
    ②Candidates must have at least a master's degree at the time of application, with a relevant research field in an area such as the following:
    TESL/TEFL/TESOL, Applied Linguistics (including CALL and other language education technologies, testing, etc.), Linguistics, Intercultural Communication, and Area Studies.
    ③Candidates must have experience teaching non-native students of English.
    It may be desirable for candidates to have experience teaching CALL, CLIL, remedial classes for learners with limited English language proficiency, and/or TOEFL/TOEIC preparation courses.
    *Those who have a part-time or fixed term contract with the Ritsumeikan Trust in the academic year 2024 are unable to apply. However, those with an indefinite part-time contract are eligible.
