  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Department of Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor level.

  • Work content and job description

    The successful applicant will join the Advanced Aerospace Engineering Group of the department. The Astronautical Engineering Group of the department is active in Propulsion Engineering, Space Exploration and Space Structures. We are seeking exceptional applicants who will develop a high-impact research program in the broad areas of Astronautical Engineering and is expected to be a future candidate for Full Professor in the Astronautical Engineering Group. We will place higher priority on the originality, impact, and international view of the candidate’s work.

    Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and directing research projects that lead to MS and Ph.D. theses. The applicants must hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate field. The position is open to any candidate who fulfills the listed academic requirements, regardless of gender or nationality. The successful applicant, of Japanese or non-Japanese nationality, will become a Japanese National University Corporation employee and be paid accordingly.

    The laboratory’s management will be independent, and the budget allocation and student assignments will be the same as those of full professors. The research space will be provided for starting up a new laboratory. The teaching and administrative responsibilities should be the same or lower than those of associate professors.
