Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba (Faculty of Agriculture, Tsukuba Plant Innovation Research Center) is looking for an assistant professor to work on research projects related to the National BioResource Project “Development of a Core Center for Tomato BioResources”, which is being undertaken on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Once hired for a position, you will be involved in the education and management of graduate courses, as well as the Tsukuba Plant Innovation Research Center.

    Advanced research and development related to the National BioResource Project, education at the graduate school, operation and management at the Tsukuba Plant Innovation Research Center, and work related to the preservation, multiplication, distribution, and promotion of the use of tomato bio-resources.

  • Description

    The candidate will have a doctoral degree (or be expected to have one by the time of appointment) and have the ability to conduct research and write papers at an international level in their field of expertise, and will be willing to take on the responsibilities described in the [Job Description] section. The candidate will be able to carry out their lectures and other duties at the university in Japanese and English. In particular, the candidate will have the Japanese language skills necessary to handle documents related to the tomato bioresource project.
