Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Department of Applied Quantum Physics and Nuclear Engineering consists of four courses: (1) Nuclear Radiation Engineering course, (2) Nuclear Energy System course, (3) Quantum Science and Materials course, and (4) Applied Physics course. The associate professor being advertised will belong to the Quantum Science and Materials course. Their successful candidate will be responsible for education and research from a quantum engineering perspective the crystal structure of solid materials such as metals, semiconductors, and oxides, the mechanisms behind material functionality, and the structure and properties of radiation-induced defects caused by quantum beams, particularly in the context of next-generation energy production and environmental conservation. The candidate is expected to utilize experimental methods such as spectroscopic and imaging techniques, while also taking on the challenge of developing and advancing new approaches to material evaluation beyond conventional methods.

Teaching Responsibilities:Lectures (including experiments and exercises) and supervising students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, you may be asked to teach courses in the international program at the graduate course and the first-year education courses (university-wide education) at the undergraduate course. Some of these courses will be taught in English.

Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~
The annual salary system, which was introduced on 1st of April 2020, will be applied. The annual salary is determined in accordance with the university's pay scale based on experience, etc.
The adove annual salary are general guidelines and may be less than the above annual salary in some cases.

Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and the period from the 29th of December

Overtime and other explanations :
Based on the discretionary labor system for professional work by consent, it is regarded that

Description
(1)Doctoral. or Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment.
(2)Have sufficient teaching ability (including instruction and lectures in English) and enthusiasm for teaching and research in undergraduate and graduate doctoral programs.
(3)Have particularly outstanding research achievements in the above-mentioned specialized fields.
(4)The applicant should have the willingness and ability to actively engage in interdisciplinary research with other areas of specialization and the development of new research fields from a long-term perspective, in addition to the above-mentioned areas of specialization.
(5)Have the ability and enthusiasm to actively develop education and research activities from an international perspective and social cooperation with industry, government, etc.
