Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Department of English of the University of Kitakyushu offers students three programs in English: Language & Education, Culture & Society, and Global Business. Among these, the Global Business Program holds a particularly significant position as it represents the enriched curriculum of the department. To further enhance the program, we are seeking a specialist who can teach and conduct research in the field of International Business in English. Recognizing the growing trend of professionals transitioning their practical experience into academic settings, we also welcome applications from practitioners in relevant fields.

  • Work content and job description

    Courses: Marketing, International Business, Business Case Studies, Seminar, Graduation Thesis, Communicative English
    (There is a possibility that the successful candidate will also be asked to teach Economics for Business.)

    Conditions:
    The successful candidate may be asked to take on departmental administrative tasks (e.g. admissions-related roles, public relations-related roles, other committee activities, etc.).
    The successful candidate may be asked to teach graduate school classes.

    Overtime and other explanations : As outlined by the discretionary labor system for specialized work, 7 hours and 45 minutes of work is deemed a standard working day.

    Qualification Requirements:
    1. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field or have a PhD-equivalent academic record. Applications from candidates with considerable professional experience will also be considered.
    2. As lectures will be conducted in English, graduates of English-speaking graduate institutions are preferred.
    3. While candidates of any nationality may apply, applicants should have sufficient Japanese reading, writing, listening and speaking ability to perform administrative tasks in a Japanese language environment.
