Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Our school's philosophy of research and education is to contribute to the development of society and to create a knowledge-based society for the next generation. By creating and adopting the principles of information science, we aim to train engineers who have a broad and deep knowledge of this field, as well as an international sense. In this way we will cultivate highly creative scientists who independently carry out significant research and development.

  • Work content and job description

    (Immediately after hiring) Lectures, seminars, experiments, and exercise courses related to computer science and information technology.
    1.The Laboratory of Mathematical Science for Computing has a basic approach to clarifying the structure, mechanism, properties, and limitations of various scientific topics by analyzing and modeling them using mathematical science.
    We aim to contribute to society by providing theories, technologies, and methodologies with solid mathematical backgrounds for various issues in the fields of engineering and information science, including machine learning theory and signal processing.
    2.We invite applicants who will be affiliated with the laboratory, collaborate with other faculty members, and take responsibility for research and education in the research group of mathematical science.
    Applicants will be expected to investigate research in the aforementioned areas deeply. Therefore, applicants are expected to have research achievements in at least one of the main or related keywords and be motivated to apply their expertise in one area to the other.
    Main Keywords: signal processing (for image, audio, signal on graphs and so on), machine learning, optimization, functional analyses
    Related Keywords: linear algebra, mathematical statistics, graph theory, manifold theory, other mathematical science domains
    3.The successful applicant will partly or fully give some of the lectures listed below, for which the Laboratory of Mathematical Science for Computing is responsible.
    (1)Subjects in the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology:Laboratory seminar, and others
    (2)Subjects in the School of Engineering:Media Technology and its Exercise, Experiments and Exercise in Computer Science and Information Technology, Exercise in Technical English, Applied Mathematics, Information Mathematics, and others
    (3)Subjects in general education: Freshman Seminar, Statistics, and others.
