The English-track degree program, called E-Track, attracts students from Japan as well as from around the world.     Tokyo International University seeks applicants who can teach an undergraduate introductory mathematics course, Fundamentals of Mathematics, which is required for students with concentrations in the following areas:
    (1)Business Economics
    (2)Digital Business and Innovation

    Starting date
    September 1, 2025

    Content of work
    The course is for freshmen, just entering E-track Program at TIU, covering such issues as (1) Problem Solving and Critical Thinking (Inductive and Deductive Reasoning); (2) Set Theory; (3) Logic; (4) Algebra; (5) Graphs; (6) Theory of Integration and Differentiation; (7) Functions (Linear, Exponential, Logarithmic, and Quadratic); (8) Linear Equation; (9) Modeling; (10) Metrix Theory; and so on. Two sessions of the course are offered in each semester on Kawagoe Campus.

    The teaching at TIU is conducted on a semester basis, involving 100-minute class twice per week over the duration of 14 weeks per semester. All the classes are conducted at TIU's Kawagoe Campus 1. The academic year is from April to March. Typically, Spring Semester is from April to July, while Fall Semester is from September to December.

    Responsibilities include teaching, advising and working with students from diverse backgrounds.

  • Description

    Candidates must have a PhD or Master's degree in business administration, economics or mathematics. Since this course covers the basic mathematics in business and economics and its students come from all over the world with diverse backgrounds, the instructor should have a strong communication skill in English and an ability to teach basic mathematics to social science students.

    Due to the current travel restrictions and part-time nature of the position, we will prioritize candidates located in Japan and not requiring visa support.
