Division of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering within the Department of Chemistry and Life Science at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Yokohama National University (YNU) is now inviting applications for an assistant professor as a tenure-track faculty position in the field of electrochemistry, materials chemistry and chemical engineering, related to hydrogen energy.
Work content and job description
Job description: Candidate’s area of research must be in the field of electrochemistry, materials chemistry and chemical engineering, related to hydrogen energy. Candidate is expected to promote his/her research in cooperation with staffs involved in research on green hydrogen and chemical energy conversion in Yokohama National University. The post-holder will have responsibility for teaching (lectures, laboratory experiments, practice and graduate study) in Specialization in Chemistry and Life Science in graduate courses and Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Life Science in the undergraduate courses. Alongside educational and research activities, the post-holder is also expected to take a role in administrative duties.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree or are expected to have a doctoral degree by the time of their arrival.
Work experience
Candidates should have a working knowledge of Japanese language in order to carry out education and research. Candidates should have enough ability to perform educational and research works in English language, especially to supervise foreign students and to work for international exchange activities such as student exchange program.
